How To Boycott Israel

How To Boycott Israel

Your choice: support freedom and democracy
in Israel or global Islamic terrorism.

Jerusalem ---- June 27, 2010 …. Israel, the only democracy in the Middle-East, is struggling to defend herself from Islamic terror attacks. When Islamic terrorists posed as so-called peace activists in trying to break the Israel security blockade off Gaza to prevent weapons from pouring into the hands of Jihadists, a few very naive, twisted and perverted organizations demanded economic boycotts against Israel.

In the UK, the boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) effort against Israel is getting “worse and worse”, said Vivian Wineman, president of British Jewry’s representative body, the Board of Deputies has warned. Wineman, says that he is getting increasingly concerned about the “growing campaign” of delegitimization of Israel in England.

On the other side of the Atlantic, so called pro Palestine peace activists in San Francisco, say that they marked a turning point in the boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel. Nearly 1,000 activists picketed at the Port of Oakland and successfully stopped a Chinese ship, thinking that it was the Israel Zim Line ship, from being unloaded for over 24 hours.

There is no humanitarian crisis in Gaza. No one is dying. No one is starving. Over 140 humanitarian aid trucks enter Gaza from Israel on a daily basis in cooperation with the UN and the EU. Warehouses are full in Gaza and there are several elegant dining restaurants and catering halls enjoying a thriving business.

So what is it all about? It's about those who wish for the total destruction of secular, democratic Israel. Those from terror states in Iran, Syria, Lebanon and Islamic terror organizations Hamas, Hezbollah and al-Qaeda who embrace Islamic Jihad and believe that if you are Jewish or Christian - as Infidels you should be murdered.

So what good advice can we provide these truly democratic, tolerant and respectful people with?
If you really want to destroy Israel, please follow these simple instructions below.

In your office or home, do not use any computers, as Israel developed the Intel Pentium chip, Windows MP, XP and Vista as well as Microsoft Office and AOL IM instant messaging. Also remove your Internet security firewalls, as these were developed in Israel.

Do not use Google as the algorithm (the online search method) for Google was developed in Israel.

In your home and car, do not use your cellphones that were developed in Israel by Motorola, as was voice mail and camera phones. Quickly destroy your TV remote control, as this also was developed in Israel.

As for your health, do not under any circumstances let your gastroenterologist use the camera pill you swallow that photographs your esophagus, colon, etc. Just let him ram his scope up your backside. That will show those Zionists who's in charge. Don't use Copaxane for MS.

If you have a heart attack, do not let the surgeon put in a stint, which was developed in Israel, or use a defibrillator on you. Also decline the new Israel medication from Israel for Parkinson's or Ex Ablate 2000 if you have fibroid tumors.

Lastly, should you visit Haiti, please apologize to the thousands of people there whose lives were saved by the Israel Defense Forces IDF field hospital after a devastating earthquake. Israel NGO humanitarian groups are still in Haiti providing food, shelter and education.

Want to boycott Israel? Turn your computer off and begin studying Sharia law.

Human Rights Watch: Hamas Commits Terrorism With Gilad Shalit

Three Years of Incommunicado Detention Is Cruel and Inhumane
JUNE 24, 2009

"Hamas authorities have no excuse for cutting off Shalit from his family and the outside world for three years. Punishing Shalit for grievances against Israel is unjust and unlawful."

Sarah Leah Whitson, Middle East and North Africa director at Human Rights Watch

(Jerusalem) - Hamas authorities should immediately allow Sgt. Gilad Shalit of Israel to communicate with his family and to receive visits from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Human Rights Watch said today, on the third anniversary of his captivity. Hamas's prolonged incommunicado detention of Shalit is cruel and inhumane and may amount to torture, Human Rights Watch said.

Hamas authorities are obligated by the laws of war to allow Shalit to correspond with his family, but during his three years of captivity, Hamas has passed on only three letters he has written and a voice recording. Neither Shalit's family nor the ICRC have been permitted to visit him.

"Hamas authorities have no excuse for cutting off Shalit from his family and the outside world for three years," said Sarah Leah Whitson, Middle East and North Africa director at Human Rights Watch. "Punishing Shalit for grievances against Israel is unjust and unlawful."

Hamas officials have repeatedly insisted that they will return Shalit only in return for Israel's release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners, including women, children, and others whom Israeli courts have convicted of deadly attacks on civilians. But repeated efforts at negotiating prisoner exchanges between Hamas and Israel have failed. On June 20, 2009, the Hamas leader, Khaled Meshal, told reporters in Kuwait that Israel was trying to "manipulate" Hamas to reduce its demands.

On June 16, another Hamas leader, Mahmoud Zahar, said Hamas would consider giving Shalit a letter from his parents, conveyed by the former US President Jimmy Carter. However, Hamas continues to reject requests by the ICRC to visit Shalit and to carry messages to and from his family.

On June 25, 2006, Palestinian militants based in the Gaza Strip raided an Israel Defense Forces post inside Israel, near the Kerem Shalom crossing, killing two Israeli soldiers and capturing Shalit, who then held the rank of corporal. Hamas, the governing authority in Gaza, has held him captive since that time. According to news reports, Shalit received medical treatment for a shoulder injury and a broken hand sustained during the attack.

The laws of war prohibit cruel and inhuman treatment of persons in custody. They also require a party to a conflict to permit persons deprived of their liberty to correspond with their families and consider in good faith and not arbitrarily refuse a request by the ICRC to visit detainees.

Incommunicado detention arises when detainees are denied access to anyone outside the place of detention. In 2003, the United Nations Commission on Human Rights in Geneva resolved that "prolonged incommunicado detention ... can in itself constitute a form of cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or even torture." The UN Human Rights Committee, a body of independent experts, has held in a number of cases that incommunicado detention, usually alongside other mistreatment, amounts to cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment. In the case of El-Megreisi v. Libya, the Human Rights Committee ruled that prolonged incommunicado detention of more than three years amounted to torture and cruel and inhuman treatment.

Israel has also deprived Palestinian prisoners of family visits. In June 2007, Israel suspended an ICRC-run program allowing twice-monthly family visits for 900 Palestinians from Gaza who are detained in Israeli prisons. The ICRC reported the case of one woman, Tahani Mustafa Herig, whom Israeli authorities only allowed to visit her husband three times between 2001 and 2007, when it barred all Gazan families from prison visits. The families are allowed to exchange letters.

Israel imposed the prison-visit ban at the same time as it did a larger blockade on people and goods after Hamas's violent takeover of Gaza on June 15, 2007. Israeli officials, including former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, have stated that lifting the blockade is conditional on Hamas's release of Shalit. Human Rights Watch has called the blockade a form of collective punishment against Gaza's 1.5 million residents in violation of the laws of war. Violations of the laws of war by one party to a conflict do not justify violations by the other.

Israeli authorities have repeatedly detained Hamas members without charge in the West Bank in arrests related to the Shalit case. Shortly after Shalit's abduction in 2006, Israel detained nearly 40 Hamas politicians in the occupied West Bank. In March 2009, within days after Egypt-mediated negotiations over Shalit's release broke down in Cairo, Israel detained without charge another 10 Hamas members, including four members of parliament, in the West Bank. Israel has released some of the detained Hamas members, but Hamas says 34 lawmakers are still in detention.

"It's time for both Israel and Hamas to stop destroying lives and families by using the other side's detainees as bargaining chips," Whitson said.

Gaza Freedom Flotilla

Gaza Freedom Flotilla

Jerusalem ---- June 19, 2010 …. No one is dying in Gaza. No one is starving in Gaza.

Fact is, tons of food, water, fuel and medicine flow into Gaza from Israel every day in cooperation with the UN and EU.

So why is it that so many world leaders, the UN, newspaper editors and the general public believe that the people of Gaza are suffering from famine? That Israel is attacking "humanitarian" ships and "peace activists" from the Gaza Freedom Flotilla?

That Turkey deserves to demand that Israel apologize for simply defending herself from more than 12,000 terror rockets that have fallen on the Israel cities of Sderot, Ashdod and Ashkelon since Israel left Gaza five years ago?

We must ask ourselves how has the grotesque absurd transformed itself into a clear perception of reality in every capital around the world?

Creative satire from Israel has become the sole magical bullet in
responding to the Iranian, Hamas and Turkish Islamic Jihad PR machine.

Not since Dr. Paul Joseph Goebbels engineered the creative propaganda of the Nazi regime has the world witnessed such professional and sophisticated public relations and public affairs.

Iran is using her petrol dollars to buy the best PR professionals on the world market. And the results have been nothing less than stunning.

Where Islamic suicide bombers could not and did not succeed, Iran today is using her puppet organizations Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon to wage not only a Jihad (Holy War against Jews and Christians) of bullets and bombs, but an electronic Jihad that incorporates the best of show business.

The invention of the Gaza Freedom Flotilla was a brilliant move. It was nothing less than a laser guided weapon that found Israel's large and exposed Achilles Heal - PR.

Israel suffers from a lack of budget and PR professionals. The money in Israel goes to F-16's, submarines, the Mossad, the Shabak and combat units in the IDF. So when so called "peace activists" with direct ties to Hamas and al-Qaeda arrived from Turkey, Iran and those who are waging Islamic Jihad against the West prayed that Israel would not know how to handle it. And they were right.

Rather than respond with Israel naval officers in their dress white uniforms passing out flowers and food to the "peace activists" for the world media to record and upload, black masked commandos stormed the Gaza Freedom Flotilla with paint ball guns. And to add to Iran's joy, these Israel commandos had orders not to shoot, even as their comrades were being knived, shot and clubbed as they boarded. There were no Israel snipers. There was no cover fire to take out the Islamic attackers.

But then something of a miracle emerged on YouTube. It was not the standard dry and academic videos that one would find being uploaded from the IDF. Rather it was pure satire produced by the private sector.

The "We Con The World" video went from a handful of viewers to over 100,000 viewers within 24 hours. Within a week and half over 3 million people viewed this creative and factual version of reality in Gaza and Israel. Eventually YouTube removed the video even as the Latma production team yelled Fair Use and foul. The video may have been produced with all of the elements of Fair Use, but YouTube, which is a corporation that makes a commercial revenue is not Fair Use.

WeJew.com, an Israel based video provider then picked up where YouTube left off.

As the US warns Europe of Iran missiles and as Iran dispatches "humanitarian" Gaza Flotilla Ships from Iran, Turkey and Lebanon to provoke Israel into a war, we should all sit back and take another look at the Gaza Freedom Flotilla.

As "We Con The World" simply states in its lyrics, all you have to do is call yourself an activist. And with that magic word you may just be able to enter Gaza with more lethal missiles, rockets, bombs and bullets to attack Israel towns and cities with. Iran, Hamas and Islamic Jihad failed to deliver weapons with the Karine A carrying over 50 tons of weapons, including short-range Katyusha rockets, antitank missiles, and high explosives. But the "activists" might just succeed in softening up Israel's legal blockade of Gaza. Create a hole just big enough to add a few more rockets among the sacks of rice and plastic baby toys.

It's time that Israel wakes up and provides a realistic budget for public affairs and crisis communications management for both the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Israel Defense Forces. That in the next Security Cabinet meeting held in Jerusalem by the Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israel Defense Minister Ehud Barak that the missing and critical issue of public relations and public affairs be addressed.

The cost of a news release, a Twitter and Facebook account plus a YouTube video is far less expensive than an all out war which could cost the lives of thousands of Jews, Arabs and Christians in Israel, in Iran and around the globe.

Public affairs has a direct affect on life on the ground. So far Iran, Turkey, Syria, Hamas, Islamic Jihad and the Gaza Freedom Flotilla which want to take away your basic freedom and democracy are winning big time with a 1-0 score.

Just call yourself an activist.

Israel Iran - Democracy vs. Islamic Terrorism Website Launched

Israel Iran - Democracy Vs. Islamic Terror

ISRAEL IRAN - DEMOCRACY VS. ISLAMIC TERRORISM

Israel, the only democracy in the Middle East, is now being challenged by Iran - a terror state which has sworn to "wipe Israel off the map."

Israel has a legal blockade (please see San Remo Manual) off the coast of Gaza to prevent weapons from entering Gaza. Weapons which have been used by Hamas in launching over 12,000 rockets on Israeli civilian towns and cities.

Israel has the basic right to self defense and will defend her civilian population from Iran, which is now threatening to break this blockade. The actions of Iran would not be defined as illegal but rather as a "hostile act" for which Israel would defend herself using every available means she needs.

Israel provides hundreds of tons of food, water, fuel and medical supplies into Gaza on a daily basis.
No one is dying. No one is starving. There is no humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Iran is trying to import
more weapons into Gaza that have and will be used to attack civilians in Israel. Since Israel left Gaza,
over 12,000 terror rockets have been launched from Gaza into Israel.

Israel Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon met with senior Italian officials to discuss the Iranian sanctions, the situation in the Middle East and bilateral relations. The Deputy Foreign Minister met with the President of the Italian Parliament Gianfranco Fini, Italian Deputy Foreign Minister Stephania Craxi and opposition leader Enrico Letta, amongst others.

Ayalon discussed the recent events concerning the flotilla and the blockade of Gaza. The Italian officials expressed their support for the Israeli investigation into the events surrounding the flotilla and expressed understanding of Israel's position vis-à-vis the legal blockade of Gaza. The Deputy Foreign Minister thanked his hosts for their expressions of support for Israel's right to self-defense.

Referring to the blockade on Gaza, Ayalon said: "Unfortunately, Hamas has established a blockade on the Palestinian people in Gaza. The future of the blockade depends solely on Hamas. The moment that they adhere to the three principles that the international community established, the blockade will end."

Nevertheless, the Deputy Foreign Minister explained that attention should not be diverted from the issue of Iran. "Everything negative in the region emanates from Iran and they remain the true threat to the all the people in the region, including the Lebanese and Palestinian people," Ayalon continued. "Iran will continue to do everything possible to prevent progress towards peace in the region."

With this in mind, Ayalon called on Italy and the European Parliament to implement further sanctions on Iran. "We should take advantage of the latest United Nations Security Council resolution and provide a secondary layer of sanctions through the European Parliament and national parliaments, like Italy," Ayalon told the Italian officials. "We would also like to see more countries follow the lead of the Dutch Parliament and the U.S. Congress by designating the Iranian Revolutionary Guards as a terrorist entity."

The Iran nuclear threat covers all of the Middle East and Europe.

Iran’s rapidly expanding missile program is a growing threat to regional stability in the Middle East and is a cause of grave concern to Tehran’s immediate and more distant neighbors. Al-Alam, Iran’s Arabic-language news service, recently declared that the Islamic Republic is the region’s missile power. Additionally, it is suspected that North Korean technological know-how is being transferred to Iran, aiding its nuclear program development.

On May 20, 2009, Iran test-fired the solid-fuel Sejil-2 missile with a range of more than 1,200 miles (2,000 km), capable of striking Israel and parts of Europe. According to Iranian Defense Minister Mostafa Mohammed Najjar, the Sejil-2 differs from the earlier version of the Sejil in that it “is equipped with a new navigation system as well as precise and sophisticated sensors.” The U.S. Department of Defense confirmed that the test-launch was successful. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said the missile “landed exactly on target.”

The advantage of a solid-fuel missile is that it is easily stored and hidden, moved, reassembled, and fired on short notice, making it more difficult to target.

On Feb. 3 2009, Iran launched a domestically made satellite into orbit for the first time. Iran said the launch of the Omid (Hope) research and telecom satellite was a major step in its space technology timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the 1979 Islamic revolution. The long-range ballistic technology used to put satellites into orbit, can launch warheads.

YouTube Censors Israel Gaza Flotilla Video - We Con The World

YouTube Censors Israel Gaza Flotilla Video

Peaceful, humanitarian activists
don't carry guns, knives and slingshots.

Israel News Agency

Jerusalem ---- June 13, 2010 …. After this past week, no one can say that the Jews control the media.

After over 3 million views on YouTube, the Israel produced satire We Con The World, illustrating the facts and truth of the Pallywood and Turkey staged Gaza Freedom Flotilla, was removed from YouTube.

Israel which suffers from both a lack of budget and PR professionals finally got in the last word with this viral marketed video, after the Israel Defense Forces were accused of killing "humanitarian peace activists". The so-called peace activists were actually caught on video attacking IDF soldiers who came to inspect a vessel for weapons. The IDF, which were carrying paintball guns, were attacked with gunfire, knives, metal poles, chains and metal balls made for slingshots.

"We Con the World," which was sung to the tune of "We Are the World," the 1980's fund-raising song for African poverty and recorded again last year to help the people of Haiti following a devastating earthquake, was removed from YouTube over a copyright claim by Warner / Chappell Music, Inc.

The video was created by Latma, an Israel group that normally produces political satire in Hebrew. A Washington, D.C. think tank, the Center for Security Policy, funded the project.

A link to the video was circulated by the Israel Government Press Office and several Web 2.0 PR professionals through Facebook and Twitter. When the Israel News Agency received the video it had only a few dozen views but within 24 hours the video had blasted off into cyberspace, with over 100,000 views.

Carolyn Glick, a Latma editor and contributor to the Jerusalem Post stated that copyright attorneys had told the group that the use of the song for the parody falls under the Fair Use Doctrine.

Fair Use is a doctrine in US copyright law that allows limited use of copyrighted material without requiring permission from the rights holders, such as for commentary, criticism, news reporting, research, teaching or scholarship. Transcending this, the use of the We Con the World video was protected by the additional facts that it emerged from a non-profit group - no one was making any money from the distribution of this anti Jihad video.

When searching for the video today on Google or YouTube one gets a disclaimer stating: "This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Warner/ Chappell Music, Inc."

Please notice the word "claim".

Are we missing something in this picture? Does this mean that all free speech on YouTube can come tumbling down with a simplistic "claim". Anyone can make a claim. My cats can make a claim. But to prove the claim is an entirely different matter.

Israel has been subjected to so many false claims that one would believe that we hand out poison candy to Palestinian children and eat Palestinian babies. In fact today, one so called claim stating that a Palestine boy named Al-Dura who was supposed to have been killed by the IDF as a result of a faked death by the Palestinian Authority has been proven as a hoax by a French court. The French government TV channel originally broadcast staged scenes from segments of film that slandered the IDF.

We in Israel may want to think that the world is changing in a positive manner, becoming more democratic and open to free speech. While in fact, a heavy and potent accent of Islamic Jihad is the creation of electronic Jihad and legal Jihad - holy war against all Jews and Christians. This Jihad is having a devastating effect everywhere - from London and Paris to Turkey and the White House.

Israel needs to learn again what it learned in 1948. Never rely on others. Never take any nation's or corporate support for granted. Just listen to the prophetic words of the video: "the truth will not find its way to your TV."

YouTube, which is owned by Google and was created by Jews, has turned her back to Israel during these days of severe crisis with both Islamic Jihad and Iran. We can only hope that YouTube learns that it made a mistake and abides by law and not succumbs to "claims" in the future.

In the meantime, Israel will once again distribute We Con The World through other medias such as MetaCafe.com and JewTube.com.

We must remember that the world stood quietly during the Holocaust as the 6 million walked into gas chambers.

We will no longer be silenced.

“It’s not as if a clip that has been seen by 3.5 million viewers is just going to disappear,” said Glick.
“We see a double standard here, ours is the only one that has been attacked. If anybody thinks that this is going to intimidate us, then they’re sorely mistaken,” she said.

Gaza Peace Freedom Flotilla is using

Jerusalem ---- June 4, 2010 …. In a world which often disregards facts and the truth, sometimes a bit of creative satire breaks through. One such example is a YouTube video entitled 'We Con the World' which illustrates Jews dressed up as Gaza Flotilla Activists, singing a parody of 'We Are The World' with the only difference that these singers are brandishing knives and axes.

Within a 24 hour period 'We Con the World' has gone from a handful of viewers to over 100,000 viewers on YouTube. The pro Israel, pro democracy video used viral marketing being pushed through Twitter,Facebook, Blogs and Google News to reach a massive audience.

The Internet video was created by Latma, which creates Hebrew language political satire for the Web, the video features the Mavi Marmar captain and Islamic terror crew singing about how they "con the world."

"We think this is an important Israel contribution to the discussion of recent events," said respected Israel writer Caroline Glick. "and we hope you distribute it far and wide."

The Gaza Freedom Flotilla was produced in Turkey by the Hamas and al-Qaeda terror group related aid organization IHH. The IHH is a Turkish Islamic nongovernmental organization (NGO) which bought and manned the Mavi Mamara. The Islamic Justice and Development Party (AKP) of Turkey Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has been doing all in its power to bash Israel in order to secure more support from the Islamic Arab oil world.

Tension between Turkey and Israel has reached a crest with thousands in Turkey protesting Israel and thousands in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem condemning Erdogan for hypocrisy as Turkey occupies Cyprus.

The Gaza Freedom Flotilla represents the best in PR spin, electronic Jihad, as many nations and media organizations perceived it as a "peace humanitarian mission" which was attacked by the Israel Defense Forces.

In reality, Israel has every legal right to defend her borders and according to the San Remo Manual on International Law Applicable to Armed Conflicts at Sea, Israel maintains the right to inspect any ship anywhere in the world which declares its intent to trek to Gaza.

The true nature of the Hamas Gaza Flotilla was revealed on video tape by the IDF as boarding Israel soldiers who came to inspect and talk were brutally attacked with guns, knives and sling shots hurling metal balls. Several IDF soldiers, who were only armed with paint ball guns, are now recovering in hospital. Some of the so called peace activists were killed during the rioting, blood for which Israel places on the doorstep of Turkey which created the lethal provocation.

Israel has made it vividly clear that if this was truly a humanitarian mission, that these boats would be allowed to dock in Ashdod, Israel and the cargo would then be transferred into Gaza. No one in Gaza is presently starving or dying. The people of Gaza receive tons of food, medical aid and fuel every day through UN and EU convoys. The Israel Government Press Office even recently started to distribute menus from some of Gaza most elegant restaurants so that if journalists had any doubt as to the lack of food in Gaza, they would find a place to enjoy some of the finest steak and sea food dishes.

Israel has been blockading Gaza since Hamas violently attacked forces loyal to Abbas’s Fatah group and seized control in 2007. Hamas is registered as a terrorist organization by Israel, the US and the European Union EU.

Israel launched a three-week military operation in Gaza in December 2008, aimed at stopping Hamas and other terror groups from firing rockets into Sderot, Ashdod and Ashkelon - cities in southern Israel. More than 12,000 terror rockets have slammed into homes and schools in Israel since Israel left the Gaza Strip in an unilateral peace move.

Three Hamas rockets were fired at Israel from Gaza late yesterday, an IDF spokeswoman said. Over 300 rockets have been fired since the end of the 2008 IDF defensive operation, murdering one foreign worker in Israel last March, wounding hundreds and traumatizing thousands of school children.

As the world awaits to see if the next so called humanitarian aid ship - the MV Rachel Corrie - attempts to visit Gaza and if accompanied by a Turkey naval vessel could provoke a regional war, those interested in Middle East politics can smile for a few minutes viewing the dark comedy, the sad truth as illustrated by the YouTube video 'We Con the World'.

Gaza Peace Flotilla? This was an Islamist Terror Ambush

'Peace convoy'? This was an Islamist terror ambush

MONDAY, 31ST MAY 2010

As the international community rushes to condemn Israel for the violence on board one of the ships in the Gaza flotilla, which left a reported 10 people dead and dozens injured, it is now obvious that the real purpose of this ‘armada of hate’ was not merely the further delegitimisation of Israel but something far worse.

Gaza’s markets are full of produce, thousands of tons of supplies are travelling into Gaza every week through the Israeli-controlled border crossings, and there is no starvation or humanitarian crisis. It was always obvious that the flotilla was not the humanitarian exercise it was said to be. Here is footage of the IDF offering to dock the Marmara -- the main flotilla ship -- at Ashdod and transfer its supplies and being told ‘Negative, negative, our destination is Gaza’.

And now we can see that the real purpose of this invasion -- backed by the Turkish Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH), a radical Islamic organization outlawed by Israel in 2008 for allegedly serving as a major component in Hamas’s global fund-raising machine -- was to incite a violent uprising in the Middle East and across the Islamic world. As I write, reports are coming in of Arab rioting in Jerusalem.

The notion – uncritically swallowed by the lazy, ignorant and bigoted BBC and other western media – that the flotilla organisers are ‘peace activists’ is simply ludicrous. This research by the Danish Institute for International Studies details the part played by the IHH in Islamist terror in Afghanistan, Bosnia and Chechnya. According to the French magistrate Jean-Louis Bruguiere testifying at the Seattle trial of would-be al Qaeda Millenium bomber Ahmed Ressamin, the IHH had played ‘[a]n important role’ in the al Qaeda Millenium bomb plot targeting Los Angeles airport. It was also involved in weapons trafficking, and played in addition a key role in galvanizing anti-Western sentiment among Turkish Muslims in the lead-up to the 2003 war in Iraq. ‘Peace activists’ these people most certainly are not.

And this flotilla was but the latest jihadi attack, deploying the Islamists’ signature strategy of violence and media manipulation. Here from MEMRI (viaJust Journalism) is a clip showing the hysteria against Israel being whipped up on board before the ships set sail, with the chanting of intifada songs about ‘Khaybar’ – the iconic slaughter of Jews by Muslims in the 7th century which is used as a rallying cry to kill the Jews today -- and threats of ‘martyrdom’. This was not merely a propaganda stunt, but a terrorist attack.

This is what the Jerusalem Post reported earlier today about what happened last night:

According to the IDF, the international activists ‘prepared a lynch’ for the soldiers who boarded the ships at about 2 a.m. Monday morning after calling on them to stop, or follow them to the Ashdod Port several hours earlier.

... Upon boarding the ships, the soldiers encountered fierce resistance from the passengers who were armed with knives, bats and metal pipes. The soldiers used non-lethal measures to disperse the crowd. The activists, according to an IDF report, succeeded in stealing two handguns from soldiers and opened fire, leading to an escalation in violence.

Also in the Jerusalem Post, David Horowitz wrote:

Benayahu said soldiers, who had been dispatched to block the flotilla because of fears that it was carrying weaponry and other highly dangerous cargo into the Hamas-controlled Strip, were attacked with knives and bars and sharpened metal implements.

Benayahu said two pistols that had been fired were subsequently found aboard the one ship, the Marmara, on which the violence erupted. And, most dramatically, he said that one IDF soldier had his weapon snatched away by one of the ‘peace activists’ on board, that this weapon was then turned against the IDF soldiers, who came under fire, and that they had no choice but to shoot back in self-defense.

... What seems urgent now is to make publicly available footage that shows exactly what did unfold. In early afternoon, video footage screened on Israel’s Channel 2 appeared to show one of those aboard the Marmara stabbing an IDF soldier. Any such footage should have been made available hours earlier. Critically, if footage showing a soldier’s weapon being snatched and turned on the IDF troops exists, it should be broadcast, and the sooner the better.

Some of this footage is now available on the web but much of it is hard to follow: as ever, the Israelis have been far too slow in making the most telling images and information available in comprehensible form (including in English rather than in Hebrew, for heaven’s sake!). This clip appears to show masked and armed flotilla activists beating Israeli soldiers (although here is the BBC reportaccompanying that footage, in which the voiceover appears to be claiming, perversely, that the people in masks were Israeli soldiers. That said, the report on Radio Four’s World at One was fair and balanced).

This clip shows an Israeli soldier being stabbed. This IDF clip and this one show attacks on the commandoes including throwing one off the deck, attacking others with a metal pole and a firebomb and an attempted kidnap of another.

It is also becoming clearer as the day wears on that, far from storming the boats in order to attack those on board, the Israelis were hopelessly ill-prepared for the violence they encountered. Israel’s Channel 10 and IDF radio have reported that the Israeli naval commandos were equipped with paint ball rifles to ensure minimum casualties among the flotilla terrorists, with their hand guns to be used only as a last resort. The terrorists tried connecting the steel cables from the overhead helicopters to the boat's antenna, in order to cause the helicopters to crash. Only when the terrorists beat the soldiers with iron rods, stabbed them with knives and tried to lynch them did the soldiers respond. The Israeli commandoes were pushed down stairs, thrown overboard, and shot at.

Here is a report by an Israel army radio reporter on board:

‘The activists had many things ready for an attack on the soldiers,’ Lev-Rom said, ‘including, for instance, a box of 20-30 slingshots with metal balls; these can kill. There were also all sorts of knives and many similar things. These are what they call “cold” weapons, as opposed to live fire. It was quite clear that a lynch had been prepared.’

Lev-Rom said, however, that it appears the army, ‘even though it prepared for many different scenarios, was not ready for this one. The army seems not to have known what type of people were there and what type of weapons they had. It was hard for Israel to conceive that the ship, sponsored by the country of Turkey, would have such weapons. Israel was prepared to deal with anarchists, and instead had to deal with terrorists – that’s the feeling here.’

Here** is an even more vivid account showing how unprepared the Israeli soldiers were:

Navy commandoes slid down to the vessel one by one, yet then the unexpected occurred: The passengers that awaited them on the deck pulled out bats, clubs, and slingshots with glass marbles, assaulting each soldier as he disembarked. The fighters were nabbed one by one and were beaten up badly, yet they attempted to fight back.

However, to their misfortune, they were only equipped with paintball rifles used to disperse minor protests, such as the ones held in Bilin. The paintballs obviously made no impression on the activists, who kept on beating the troops up and even attempted to wrest away their weapons.

One soldier who came to the aid of a comrade was captured by the rioters and sustained severe blows. The commandoes were equipped with handguns but were told they should only use them in the face of life-threatening situations. When they came down from the chopper, they kept on shouting to each other ‘don’t shoot, don’t shoot,’ even though they sustained numerous blows.

The Navy commandoes were prepared to mostly encounter political activists seeking to hold a protest, rather than trained street fighters. The soldiers were told they were to verbally convince activists who offer resistance to give up, and only then use paintballs. They were permitted to use their handguns only under extreme circumstances.

The planned rush towards the vessel’s bridge became impossible, even when a second chopper was brought in with another crew of soldiers. ‘Throw stun grenades,’ shouted Flotilla 13’s commander who monitored the operation. The Navy chief was not too far, on board a speedboat belonging to Flotilla 13, along with forces who attempted to climb into the back of the ship.

The forces hurled stun grenades, yet the rioters on the top deck, whose number swelled up to 30 by that time, kept on beating up about 30 commandoes who kept gliding their way one by one from the helicopter. At one point, the attackers nabbed one commando, wrested away his handgun, and threw him down from the top deck to the lower deck, 30 feet below. The soldier sustained a serious head wound and lost his consciousness.

Only after this injury did Flotilla 13 troops ask for permission to use live fire. The commander approved it: You can go ahead and fire. The soldiers pulled out their handguns and started shooting at the rioters’ legs, a move that ultimately neutralized them. Meanwhile, the rioters started to fire back at the commandoes.

It is becoming ever more clear that Islamist terror attacks like this are fiendishly staged theatrical events in which the western media – and beyond them, western governments -- play an absolutely essential role in the drama. If those media and governments refused to swallow the lies and instead called operations like this and the players behind it for what they actually are, such terrorist operations would not happen. The Islamist strategy of war against Israel is carefully calibrated to deploy the most effective weapon in its armoury in the cause of jihadi violence – the western media. Right on cue, western governments accordingly deliver their own script in condemning the victims of terror for defending themselves. And so, courtesy of the west’s fifth columnists, yet another nail is driven into the west’s own coffin.

Let’s see whether this time the western elites show any signs of waking from their lethal trance.

Update: I am told that the Jewish Chronicle website was taken down earlier (now restored) by a massive denial of service, apparently to shut down its balanced coverage of the Ashdod flotilla incident. The JC's teccies, and the server hosts, say this hasn't been caused by just one or two people --- it's clearly now co-ordinated and growing.

**Update 2: The journalist who wrote this account, Ron Ben-Yishai, cannot be accused of being an Israel government stooge: it was Ben-Yishai who in 1982 was first into the Palestinian refugee camps at Sabra and Shatila in Beirut and blew the whistle on the massacre there that had been perpetrated by the Phalangists while Ariel Sharon looked the other way.
