Jerusalem, Israel ---- August 15, 2010 …. Part of the following was directly communicated by the Israel Government Press Office to the Israel News Agency.

The Israel Ministry of Tourism announced today that the year 5770 of the Hebrew calendar, which ends in three weeks time, was the most successful Hebrew year for incoming tourism. Over 3.1 million tourists visited Israel during 5770 - 18% more than 5769 (2.6 million) and 10% more than 5768 (2.8 million).

Many of the tourists relaxed on the long, sandy beaches of Tel Aviv and Eilat while others tasted the history and charm of Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Nazareth, the Sea of Galilee, Masada, Haifa, the Negev desert and the Golan Heights.

During the past few months, the Israel Tourism Ministry has been preparing to welcome the 260,000 tourists who are expected to visit Israel during the Jewish holidays of Rosh Hashana in September as well as thousands from Israel who will visit tourism, leisure and entertainment sites around Israel.

Israel Tourism Minister Stas Misezhnikov has toured Israel in recent months to investigate the readiness and levels of cleanliness and maintenance of hotels, youth hostels and tourism sites. The minister will also visit several hotels in the coming days in Eilat, Jerusalem and Tel Aviv where particularly high levels of occupancy are expected in order to check their readiness for the upcoming Jewish New Year holidays.

Within the framework of the Israel Tourism Ministry’s preparations for welcoming tourists, inspection teams from the Tourism Ministry will carry out inspections in tourism areas where high tourist traffic is expected during the Jewish holidays, including tourist sites, hotels and city spaces, checking, among others, the readiness and levels of cleanliness and maintenance of hotels and tourism attractions in order to ensure a pleasant vacation for tourists and Israelis alike.

Israel Tourism Minister Stas Misezhnikov said that the marketing and PR efforts of the ministry in the last year have succeeded in significantly increasing incoming tourism and improving Israel’s image as an attractive tourism destination.

“The Tourism Ministry will increase its marketing activity in the coming year in order to progress the ministry’s target of bringing another million tourists to Israel by 2012 and 5 million by 2015.”

In the last few years Israel has moved away from advertising ancient, historic walls and has illustrated a far more human face with YouTube video ads displaying young, attractive people playing on the beaches.

In May 2010 the Israel Ministry of Tourism made certain that the world saw beyond the headlines of Islamic terrorism and so-called humanitarian flotillas to Gaza so that more tourists would be treated to a realistic view of the Holy Land. Bodden Partners, a New York advertising agency launched a $10 million campaign for the Israel Ministry of Tourism titled: "There's a Little Bit of Israel in All of Us" which has introduced thousands of Jews and Christians to Israel.

"This is by far the busiest season we have ever experienced," said Giora Salama, owner of the Gordon Inn Youth Hostel in Tel Aviv. "We had over 700,000 tourists last year just from the US. Even with the global recession affecting the travel and tourist industries, Israel was only off by nine percent compared to countries including Italy and Spain that were estimated to be down as much as by 35 percent."

Salama, who operates one of the cleanest and cheapest youth hostels in Tel Aviv, said that almost every room of the 27 rooms and dormitories that he rents out is booked through September.

And many are coming to Israel for more than just a mere visit. Over 240 new Israel immigrants, including a record-breaking 85 young adults who will join the Israel Defense Forces, were welcomed at Ben-Gurion Airport on Tuesday by Nefesh B’Nefesh and the Jewish Agency.

Israel President Shimon Peres warmly greeted the new olim as they stepped off from their 12-hour Aliya flight from New York, which was sponsored by the Friends of the IDF and the Garin Tzabar program.

Recently the US State Department dropped a travel warning to Eilat while the Turkey Ministry of Tourism released numbers that illustrate a profound, negative impact of the so-called "Flotilla humanitarian aid" PR stunts to Gaza.
A mere 2,605 Israelis visited Turkey in June 2010 compared with 27,289 in June 2009 - a drop of 90 percent.
Turkey bashing Israel to save itself from Islamic terror bombings, had a negative effect on Turkey's economy with a loss of income and employment in Turkey.

The Israel Ministry’s tourism offices in Jerusalem, Eilat and Nazareth will operate normally throughout the Jewish holidays and the intermediate days of Sukkot. The tourism office at Ben Gurion International Airport will remain open 24 hours a day, including during the Jewish holidays.

Israel Human Rights Group To Sue Mother, Ra'anana Child Welfare For Gender Bias Discrimination, Abuse

Israel Human Rights Group To Sue Mother, Ra'anana Child Welfare For 10 Million

Ra'anana, Israel ---- August 12, 2010 …. Fathers 4 Justice Israel, which advocates equal access for the children of divorced parents, has announced that it will file gender bias discrimination and abuse charges against the city of Ra'anana, Israel and a divorced mother who has been accused of child abuse.

"Israel is one of most advanced democracies in the world, but when it comes to children's rights, father's rights it is a third world country," said Director of Fathers 4 Justice Israel Joel Leyden.

"Gender bias discrimination has been practiced in Israel since the modern state was born in 1948. By law children go to the mother up to the age of 6 and then this discrimination practice culturally remains in effect until the child reaches the age of 18. Fathers are allowed to carry M-16's but not allowed to carry their own children."

Leyden states that a case of physical and emotional child abuse in Ra'anana, Israel illustrates this fact.

A hard working, responsible divorced father has been the victim of criminal harassment by private detectives ever since he requested the Israel police to investigate complaints by his child of physical and emotional abuse by her mother. The woman, who is originally from the UK, earns over 2.5 million US dollars a year and takes holidays in Europe, has used a small, outstanding amount of child support as an excuse to criminally harass her ex. She states that she has every legal right to go after past child support money using the free services of her family's law office in Netanya, Israel and private investigators, who use tax paid courts and police.

Fathers 4 Justice Israel states that she does not have the right to traumatize her 9-year-old child nor criminally assault and harass a man to death who has just completed heart surgery.

"This divorced mother could have settled each and every issue over a cup of coffee but chose to increase tension and conflict by using the free legal services of her family owned law firm, Feder Law in Netanya," said Leyden. "Feder Law then retained private detectives, thugs who threatened the father and physically assaulted him in front of his daughter. As his daughter was screaming: "stop, you're killing my daddy" neighbors came out and photographed the assault."

Police are expected to send the criminal case against the private detectives, the Harel Feder Law firm which engaged them and the Ra'anana mother who allegedly orchestrated the assault to the Attorney General's Office in Israel.

"Going beyond any level of normalcy, Feder Law, after the assault which placed both father and child in the hospital with blood stained clothes, is requesting that the private detectives who assaulted the father be paid for by the innocent father."

Fathers 4 Justice has also stated that they will file a complaint with the Israel Bar Association against Harel Feder Law.

"We believe that the mother is narcissistic, emotionally unstable and unable to care for the best interests of the child," said Leyden. "What mother sends men to beat up the father of her child?"

Leyden states that the City of Ra'anana, Israel child welfare department and Ra'anana Mayor Nachum Hofree have refused to take any action to protect the child from the mother.

"We believe that the mother is narcissistic, emotionally unstable and unable to care for the best interests of the child," said Leyden. "What mother sends men to beat up the father of her child?"

To make matters even worse, the father of the child has been harassed to the point where the stress has taken a serious toll on his heart. During the period of harassment, 3 months, the father developed diabetes, high cholesterol and has just completed heart surgery this week. According to Leyden, this mother does not want money, as she earns over 2 million USD per year, but wants the father to leave Israel or die.

A witness told Fathers 4 Justice Israel that the mother had told her that she wishes the father would leave Israel, and if that were not to happen, wishes that he would choke on something.

"This father was extremely frail, just released from hospital when his ex-wife began to harass him again stating that she wanted to document his lifestyle. She wants to throw as much stress at this good dad to actually create a heart attack. This transcends malice and constitutes attempted man slaughter, a death threat and Ra'anana Child Welfare has not responded. The only responsible parties have been the police, who have been dealing with this case with complete and total understanding. They don't behave like callous robots as the city paid social workers in Ra'anana but they again are at the mercy of the Israel justice system."

Ra'anana Child Welfare (Revacha) told Fathers 4 Justice Israel that they cannot do anything. That only the family court in Israel has the power. Meanwhile the family court system in Israel relies totally on the advice and judgments of Child Welfare.

"The fathers suffer. But much worse the children suffer both short term and long term from trauma and PAS (Parental Alienation Syndrome) while these cases are ignored and treated like ping pong balls. Sending the child to see a psychologist once a week is no substitute for healthy communication between the parents. The mother has repeatedly refused to go for psychological therapy and parental counseling with the father," says Leyden.

"This is not about money. The mother earns over 2.5 million dollars a year. This is about pure malice which is tearing a young child apart."

Fathers 4 Justice Israel expects the case to be heard by Kfar Sava Family Court Judge Rivka Mekayes once the father recovers from heart surgery.

"The bottom line should ultimately land on the desk of the Mayor who is responsible for the Department of Child Welfare. Ra'anana Mayor Nachum Hofree only response to these cases was to investigate and that was over two years ago.

UN Remains Silent As Terrorists Strike Israel From Lebanon, Egypt, Gaza

UN Remains Silent As Terrorists Strike Israel From Lebanon, Egypt, Gaza

By Joel Leyden
Israel News Agency

Jerusalem ---- August 3, 2010 …. After being attacked by Islamic terrorists in Egypt and Lebanon, the UN has remained silent in condemning these terror attacks against Israel.

On Monday two rockets slammed into the Israel southern port of Eilat. Security sources in Egypt confirmed the terror rockets were fired from the Sinai Peninsula and claimed that Islamic terrorists from Gaza were responsible.

The rockets also hit Jordan, murdering a Jordanian civilian and injuring three others.

On the Israel Lebanon border a UN United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) investigation of yesterday's cross-border terror attack illustrated that Israel forces where on their own side of the border when Lebanon armed forces opened fire.
An Israel officer was murdered in the border attack.
"The UN announcement today clearly corroborates the Israel version of events," said Mark Regev, an Israel government spokesman. "Our routine activity yesterday was conducted entirely south of the frontier on the Israel side and that the Lebanese Army opened fire without any provocation or justification what-so-ever."
"These terror attacks threaten stability, peace, and security in our region," Israel Ambassador Danny Carmon told UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, asking that the United Nations address the matter. "In response to this grave incident that constitutes a blatant violation of UN Security Council resolution 1701, Israel exercised its right of self-defense, responding with the appropriate measures on LAF (Lebanese Armed Forces) positions in the area."

The United Nations Human Rights Council has not mentioned, addressed nor condemned these terror attacks on Israel. The United Nations Human Rights Council was quick to condemn Israel for defending herself against armed Islamic terrorists with regard to the Fenton PR Communications Flotilla propaganda event, but remains on holiday regarding the unprovoked Islamic terror attacks from Lebanon and Gaza.
