Petition To The IOC - To Remember the Munich 11 at the London Closing Ceremony
Dear Friends,
Thank You, Gracias, Merci, תודה - we reached over 1,000 signatures and met our deadline for submitting this petition to the IOC before the London Olympics Closing Ceremony.
Although there was no mention of these murdered Olympians from the Munich 1972 Games at the London Closing Ceremony, we did not give up.
The world once again heard our humanitarian pleas for 11 Jewish Olympians to be honored and remembered.
This petition was and is highlighted on Google News - the source for all journalists and diplomats.
Where others simply forgot or gave up after the London Opening Ceremonies, many of us worked day and night on Facebook, Twitter and emailed our family and friends to gather support from every corner of the globe.
The petition was faxed, twice, 25 pages to Count Dr. Jacques Rogge.
We gave Rogge and the IOC a way out. Yes, they were taken political hostage by over 40 Arab nations who threatened to boycott the Games. But there could be no boycott after the Closing Ceremony - they were going home the next day!
Anti-Semitism defines the Olympics.
Thank you for your dedication to the Munich 11, to all Israeli terror victims who deserve more than what the IOC provided. The IOC remembered British terror victims who had no relationship to the Olympics at the London Opening Ceremonies.
But murdered Jewish Olympians were totally ignored.
We will not forget.
Never again.
Our struggle continues.
Joel
